Intentional Discipleship and Equipping through Groups and Life together – Groups provide the opportunity to do life together, build kingdom community, and reflect on our growth and difficulties. The intentional discipleship will also allow the body to have accountability and have hands on opportunities to put into practice the learning and development taking place in each other’s growing lives with Christ. We don’t learn things we don’t apply, so putting them into practice is essential.

God’s word is central – Both written scripture and the Living WORD, Jesus, are central to everything we do. Regular reading and reflecting on Scripture, allowing the Holy Spirit to interpret scripture, both privately and corporately, a personal relationship with Jesus, and a daily commitment to follow His teaching, are habits foundational for devotion to God and holistic worship.

Persistent and continual prayer – Everything we do will be based in the foundation of faith-filled, persistent prayer. Paul prayed without ceasing, so should we. God works through the prayers of His people. Listening for God is as much a part of prayer as are our requests. His sheep KNOW His voice. Praying includes seeking God’s will, adoration, confession, praise, thanksgiving, and intercession.

Meaningful Worship – We will strive to facilitate engaging, compelling, and relevant Worship Services that inspire participants to Go and embrace a life of holistic worship. Meaningful worship, evidenced by God’s Holy Spirit, includes worship arts, music and song, opportunity to give, pray, practice sacraments, experience God’s Word through public reading, preaching, teaching, and opportunities for transformational response (Table Ministries). Miracles, signs and wonders follow the preaching of the Gospel, so we expect to see those. We will be built upon the foundation of Jesus Christ and incorporate both contemporary elements and church traditions and practices. We believe that a life with Christ is a life full of worship.

Reflect Jesus and reach the Lost – Jesus loves lost people as well as those who have already found Him. The church primarily exists to reflect and represent Jesus to those not yet reached. The local church is the hope of the world. We will serve Kentwood and the greater Grand Rapids community in a way that the church would be deeply missed if it ceased to exist by echoing Christ’s radical acts of kindness and service. God’s Spirit is still active in and through us.

Deep and Wide Growth – We will be a church that is built deep and wide upon the firm foundation of Christ.
